U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Member since 1994
The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. HDR's National Director of Sustainable Design Services serves on the Advisory Board of the Greenguard Environmental Institute™. GEI is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program. GEI's mission is to improve public health and quality of life through programs that improve indoor air. Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) Champions
HDR is an H2E Champion working with other Partners and Champions to reduce the environmental impacts of providing health care by sharing best practices on a wide array of environmental issues, including: mercury elimination, regulated medical waste reduction, recycling, green cleaning, and healthy buildings. http://www.h2e-online.org/
Green Guide for Health Care Partner
HDR is an official Green Guide for Health Care (GGHC) Partner. The Green Guide for Health Care is the healthcare sector’s first quantifiable sustainable design toolkit integrating enhanced environmental and health principles and practices into the planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of their facilities. http://www.gghc.org
Labs21 Supporter
Labs21 is a voluntary program dedicated to improving the environmental performance of U.S. laboratories. The primary guiding principle of the Labs21 program is that improving the energy efficiency and environmental performance of a laboratory requires examining the entire facility from a "whole building" perspective. Multi-State Working Group on Environmental Performance (MSWG)
The Multi-State Working Group on Environmental Performance (MSWG) is a multi-sectoral network promoting innovation and supporting innovators to improve the quality of the environment, economy and community. Climate Change
The Climate Group (TCG)The Climate Group is a UK based not-for-profit dedicated to bringing the 50 most influential CEOs in the world together with the leaders of the C20 (the 20 most influential cities in the world) to collaborate on ways to reduce and better control carbon emissions while achieving private profitability goals. HDR and TCG are working together to plan and implement the 2007 C20 World Carbon Conference to be held in New York City.

This roundtable is comprised of a group of governmental, academic and business leaders from around the world focused on technological and economic solutions to concerns with regard to climate change. HDR recently joined a group of industry professionals identified by the NYC-based brokerage firm Cantor Fitzgerald, which specializes in carbon credit trading. APTA (American Public Transportation Association) HDR is actively involved with APTA in their Sustainable Public Transportation initiative. HDR is a sponsor of their annual workshop, and our staff regularly serve as presenters and moderators. HDR generally facilitates the "Greening Transit" sessions held at all conferences and was a leader in setting up a Sustainability Committee within APTA.
